Delivery

Devan has become well known for its high quality tanks and also for our specifically designed trucks that are seen frequently on our roads. Devan's trucks and trailers have been specially designed to ensure safe loading, unloading and transportation of our tanks. Devan's drivers handle these tanks daily throughout the North and South Island and strive to maintain the quality and care for the tank whilst keeping safety at the forefront of the delivery process. Providing safe and appropriate access, our drivers will endeavour to place the tank as close to the position where the tank will be used. Devan trucks also use the latest Navman navigational systems which ensures your tank(s) gets to you in the quickest possible time.

The Material

Devan tanks are manufactured from ICO Polymers Polyethylene which has been specifically formulated for large water tanks.  This long standing supplier of resins into the New Zealand and Australian markets has supplied raw material for large tanks since they were first produced in the region, and hence has a wealth of experience in the field.

The material used in Devan water tanks is COTENE 9050 Ultra UV which is high quality tank grade resin which has undergone testing to meet the following strict regulatory standards:

These properties ensure the tanks are tough enough to withstand the harsh environmental conditions in New Zealand and safely store water.

Tank Construction

Computer controlled rotational one-piece moulding is utilised to achieve a STRESS-FREE STATE in our tanks. Devan Water Tanks are designed for strength, practicality and durability.

Dome Spaceframe

The Devan 6500, 5500 and 3000 Tank domes incorporate a tubular framework . This Spaceframe does not support the dome structurally. It is an added longterm safety feature giving our domes an extra loading strength, a very important factor to consider during top plumbing operations. This modular, bolt-on frame is assembled from inside the tank after the moulding process is completed and is designed to expand and contract with the tank during temperature changes. The Dome Spaceframe is protected by the © and by NZ Patent No. 28663.

Structural Design & FEA Analysis

The structural design of the Devan 5500 Tank was independently analysed by the Plastics Development Centre in Ireland utilising the "Finite Element Analysis" method. This is a sophisticated computerised technique for engineers and designers to analyse the stress and heat transfer characteristics of structural components. The results of this analysis concluded that the Devan 5500 Tank would not fail during a normal 20 year service life and that during this period would be capable of withstanding ambient air temperatures up to 40°c. They also state that similar tanks in other countries are now approaching 30 years of service and are showing no signs of failure. All Devan Water Tanks are built with this same proven technology.

Devan Colours

Devan Plastics use tank colours that are formulated to satisfy the requirements for the Australian and New Zealand Standard for drinking water. The colours have been formulated to resist the growth of algae by inhibiting the transmission of light. For ultraviolet light stability, our tank colours contain an excellent UV additive package of UV 20, which is designed to handle the higher UV conditions in Australia and New Zealand. A typical UV package for North America or Europe would be rated as UV 4 in comparison.
